Baby we were Born to Breakout!
We tot up another co-working place for project Breakout, to add to the
list including a World Trade Center (Cornellà), the Illa Diagonal
shopping-mall with Tram included, and the “cultural” factory of Fabra
i Coats, so let’s add to it Bar Borneo as a meeting-point for the next Day of Officeless Working. This is the fourth edition of a project
that is ticking along at a good rhytmn with increasing levels of
participation and results. The team at Citilab are working hard so
that this new appointment might turn into an open and flexible venue
next thursday 25th feb. from 9.30h - 18h, incorporating some novelties
in the format and keep on exploring in the appropriation of urban
areas for co-working.
The place chosen on this occasion was proposed by a participant in the
open process of proposals for new Breakouts that was put into action
via the blog. This came out of the setting-up of a map of Meipi, a
joint project of “open guides” useful for detecting and commenting on
places among diverse users. The bar Borneo, right in the old centre of
the "modern" district of the Born in Barcelona, combines
characteristics which are very interesting to continue researching
into these proposals of co-working and innovation in the workplace.
The people who run this two-floor local are looking to make an
agreeable atmosphere for people to feel at ease, in which all types of
customers can feel at home. Coinciding, therefore, with the spirit of
Breakout, the Borneo looks to be an ideal venue to welcome our fourth
experiment social innovation.
Therefore, we call on once more creative and innovative citizens,
professionals looking for new outlets for their tasks and for
somebody who might wish to share their knowledge and experience
co-working, to head to this location in the Born to live the Breakout
experience for few hours. As we have already amply demonstrated
between all of us, another way of working, more open, participative
and flexible is possible and necessary.
At the Borneo we will once again create the ideal environment to make
professional ideas flow freely, with all of the equipment necessary
for work in the era 2.0: Wi-Fi connection to Internet, portable
computers, dynamic creativeand flexible meeting-areas.
