Citilab unveils new virtual home

The walls of bricks, wooden tables, the reflections on the walls, the “citilabers” in class, the hundreds of chairs, the computers, each step and each column... Everything, right up to the smallest detail, of the structure and equipment at our Can Suris building in Cornellà has taken on a life in the virtual world turning stones and cement into pixels, ones and zeros. Citilab inaugurates its home on the web and opens a window on all manner of possibilities for interaction with this 3D virtual recreation.
If you are ready to enter, you may open the virtual door to Citilab
Take a look around
The description of the differents areas of activity at Citilab are availables in Catalan, Spanish and English and also offer different options to take a look around.
The option Orbit lets you explore the exterior of the building and views around Citilab’s neighbourhood. If what you like is being at your own air, we recommend the mode Walk, that lets you move freely around the whole building, with only the help of the arrow keys on your keyboard and the mouse to choose direction. The guided tour, on the other hand, makes it much easier for you: you only have to click the turning icons along the way to advance through the different zones.
Finally, as if you were taking the lift, the floors menu lets you go directly to the storey you want to visit.
Live areas to interact and participate
The technology with which this model has been developed provides many options for you to interact, like for example connecting the exhibitions and events physically taking place at Citilab with this new virtual area, so that users can get information and participate actively in their development. The integration of audiovisual materials and other multimedia tools enable a visitor to virtually attend a holding of an event. Citilab has a new frontdoor that, connected eventually to platforms like Second Life, woukd even let them contact directly with all of the people who work either in or out of Citilab (a distinction that for now has even less meaning) in various projects.
