Cornellà Creació to accelerate the economic motor of the city
On the 10th december Cornellàcreació Fòrum was constituted, a new project to stimulate the business fabric throughout the zone drawing together go-ahead institutions in innovation, like Citilab. Its philosophy is similar to the recently presented INNOBAIX (see archive for details), the Agency for Industrial Innovation and Knowledge in the Baix Llobregat region, but focussed instead on the town. Cornellàcreació. therefore is the motor to kickstart the local economy in line with the advancement of the local business leaders in the city.
The Forum, promoted by the Townhall of Cornellà via the compny it set up for economic development PRECSA, representing a common place where a city with a desire to project itself outside which has always had business close to its heart can grow. In this way a forum for discussion and co-operation between business-people in an attempt to stimulate entrepreneurial activity.
Dialogue will be the base for this project, as a basic channel for proposals, solving of problems and opening up of future visions. It will be, therefore, a plataform for debate between professionals and experts of prestige where they will be able to explain and exchange their ideas.
To this extent, the Forum will have different specialized lines of work. On one hand, the Cornellàcreació Forum will be the venue for co-operation between businesses, NGO’s and the townhall to ensure Corporative Social Responsability in the city. On the other, Cornellàcreació Forum Social Action is a solidarity initiative aiming to develop projects to benefit the community via co-operation with a local NGO.
Citilab to play host to the Cornellàcreació workshops
Cornellàcreació will also have a complete programme of events and workshops during 2010, with outstanding speakers such as Lluís Bassat from the world of Advertising, and the Nobel Prize winner for Economics in 2001 Joseph Stiglitz. The events will take place at Citilab-Cornellà in addition to seminars of different specialists in innovation and related subjects.
