And the winners of the Citilab First Lego League are…

After almost 4 months hard work designing and programming a winning robot, the victorious teams of the First Lego League stepped up to receive their prizes jumping for joy, smiling and hugging one another, in an atmosphere of a euphoric sporting final. The 16 teams of youths aged between 10 and 16 who competed fiercely against the clock and rounds of 2 1/2 minutes, also had to demonstrate before a scientific tribunal that their plan of action to improve the environment was the best.
The games were marked by the enthusiasm shown by the majority of the participating teams, in a dynamic competition where the sides had to overcome the challenges created by Lego: Climatic Connections.
The prizes awarded by the scientific and technical jury were:
Prize for creativity and innovation: FMC 234 - I
The prize recognises those teams whose work stands out for innovation, robot design, programming, understanding of the design process and overall project quality.
Prize for best work of scientific investigation: Joan Brossa III
This prize is given to the team which shows that its members can make the difference and investigation of a problem until later contribute ideas and solutions which are applicable in the real world.
Prize for the best robot: Inmaculada
Often success is measured only by numbers but in this case, a number to represent the hours of study of the design and improvements in programming and mechanical functioning of the Royal.
A Project for Everybody prize: Grupo Electrógeno
Prize for those teams who include solutions so that their project and corresponding presentation are available to people of all ages and adapted for those with any impediment or disability.
Prize for the best group work: Aielo Llos
The winners in this category demonstrate trust, energy, strong problem solving abilities and a powerful group dynamic.
Prize for young promises: Braval JR
In every tournament there are teams in which the judges detect a method of working which will permit them to be even better, this prize acknowledges the team which will go on to great things in the future.
Prize for the best team spirit: Joan Brossa II
The enthusiasm for science and engineering and the spirit with which they work with their colleagues has made them worthy winners of this prime is which rewards human qualities.
Prize for the best trainer: Joan Brossa
Many teams achieve success due to the constant help of an adult. This prize values the dedication of the adult to understand the necessities of the kids in their contacts with technology.
