The First Lego league rocks Cornellà!

The greatest Lego robot competition on the planet touched down in Cornellà yesterday. The countdown had begun on Friday for the 16 teams of boys and girls who went head-to-head Saturday morning in the most exciting robot competition in the world.

Citilab was the scene of a great technological party where the stars were the robots in competition in the First Lego League. The competition was streamed live on Citilab TV and could be followed on Twitter.

The First Lego Legaue heats
Climatic connections
Scientific challenge in which the participants investigate how the climate affects the community, identify a problem that it causes and discover how to resolve it.

Robot competition
An exciting test against the clock of approximately 5 minutes in which the teams have to pass a different tests — from protecting a house from flooding to constructing dikes or burying particles of carbon dioxide — on a stage made from Lego pieces.

The First Lego League Spain final will take place on February 1st at CosmoCaixa in Barcelona.

Founded in 1989 by Dean Kamen, the objective of the FLL. Is to stimulate the interest of young people in science and technology, by promoting creativity, innovation and team work. The numbers speak for themselves: more than 500 classifying rounds, 30,000 volunteers, more than 9000 teams. More than 100,000 boys and girls from 38 countries took part in last year’s competition.
