Living Lab “Participative online games for innovation”

Image01:

Goals:
To create online environments between young people and adults, professionals and businessmen, to promote cooperative innovation attitudes.

Motivation
Innovation is more and more open and cooperative. However, cooperation attitudes and competence are hard to communicate, and even more when it's focused on very early stages of an idea and construction as creativity and innovation.

So, the innovation competences have a cognitive and abstract component which is very difficult to acquire and practise on magisterial type training. It has been proved that exercising the creative and innovative parts of the personality can be obtained through group, practical exercises based on games. These kind of approximations, however, require intensive work and, in many cases, to take place in situ, inside the company or school.
Recently, the interest for using platforms online as levers for the development of the creativity and innovation in group has been explored. The software exists for ideas exchanging, cooperative ideas mapping, etc.; for example, the Innovation Jams promoted by IBM.

Specific characteristics
Among all the possible components of creativity, we will explore those environments, games and tools affecting in:

  • Ideas Generation
  • Ideas Combination
  • Narrative Transformation
  • Idea Transformation into Initiatives
  • Creative Teamwork

The ideographic and kinetic tools and formats will be explored, as well as the textual ones.

The interaction between these platforms with other Citilab initiatives will be explored. The latter will also explore the solving of collaborative problems (like those that are developed with children and elder people in the solving of problems with robots). The collaboration with companies in the field of robotics and videogames, which is currently in consolidation phase, will be explored as well.
