Other Projects
New Cooperative Information Systems
Initiative destined to provide Citilab of a new cooperative software environment based on the management of projects involving extensive working group networks and on-line communities. The design process and its start-up would produce a model and methodology applicable to diverse environments. The solution adapts the mechanisms of the social network to share knowledge generated with the projects, upgrades the training among groups in a communication environment, and integrates the frameworks of audiovisual communication at Citilab.
Innovative Technology Culture Communities
The aim of this project is to create methodologies to the cooperative management base on digital environments. In order to do this, the different development communities at Citilab would be observed to find cooperation guidelines and to try which sets of rules, laws and conventions are more effective. The methodology used would use its analysis techniques from the social networks developed in collaboration with UPC and the observational working methods from social sciences.
Hispalab: Spanish network of Living Labs
Since its beginning, Citilab collaborates actively with the European Open Network of Living Labs E on the creation of a management and coordination body. Its mission is to contribute to the sharing of knowledge in all the Living Labs that are being created in Spain, and to generate an intense exchange experience. The Citilab role is to articulate common work areas, shared resources for collaborative work and common knowledge libraries to agglutinate initiatives at a European level on the concept of open and collaborative innovation based on the users' interests.
Video World
This project is focused on video working on a documentary to contribute with contents to the IP and cable TV audiovisual platforms at Citilab. The diverse phases of writing, information gathering, effective communication and edition, as well as technological competences associated to this digital stands, will be worked on. We would work on the on-line collaborative edition with last generation platforms and a series of working proposals related with the technology dissemination associated to the working methods of journalism.
Digital Music
Musical language shares a lot of abstract characteristics, not only with mathematics, but also with the different programming of digital frameworks. In this sense, different learning and dissemination projects would be held on the musical language through the interaction on narrative and gaming environments to extend the expressive repertoire of this digital environments through music and sound. Thanks to that, specific digital contents would be created and experiments would be held with musical hardware manipulation workshops.
Citilab's Collaborative Design
Citilab is an open innovation environment that can not limit its activity to technological products and services on training and learning. The opening could be extended to the own function design at Citilab. That is why technology gurus, people responsible of similar centres, and specialists on technology and training will be invited to work on a cooperative way to identify new opportunities, to create a new network of collaborators and to plan new projects for the future.
Campus Tech
The stage, held between the school year end and the beginning of the summer holidays, is full of activities related to sports, culture and leisure. The Citilab proposal can be no other than to join in a leisure environment, gaming and training activities related to new technologies. Different workshops would be articulated and those would be related to the more enjoyment, but also fundamental aspects on the technological culture dissemination, like robot programming, videogames programming, computer music, on-line videogames and video workshops.
Distributed infrastructures, Hardware and WiFi Workshops
The goal of this project is to expand the knowledge and capacitating to the second generation citizen networks creation, networks that allow not only the access, but also the possibility, to share resources. We can advance more in this line facilitating the access managed by the citizens and introducing concepts from the net technologies to open ways of citizens’ activity and participation. This way, we could create a first ladder on the construction of services managed by citizens or in cooperation with local authorities.
